Philippines
Philippines
Christmas in the Philippines is what we had planned. Starting in the capital Manila and then to the island of Boracay, finishing in El Nido.
Our First Impressions
Beautiful, friendly and vibrant. The Philippines was a dream come true with white beaches, amazing island hopping, snorkelling, kayaking and sunset boat rides, this was a paradise destination. Manila on the other hand had a very different lifestyle within the city, boasting the new BGC area, which was very modern and metropolitan. Filipinos were amazingly welcoming, very keen to speak to us and feature in any of our social media content.
Was the language barrier hard?
No barrier at all! Most people speak English and it was easy to communicate all throughout the country.
Everyones favourite, Food.
he Philippines had so many American style places with American dishes available as well as their more local dishes like the delicious Lechon we had for our Christmas dinner.
Transport and Getting Around places
Each location had different types of transport, unique to their Island. In Boracay the public transport was ‘hop on hop off’ buses and then private e-trikes you could hire. El Nido had some interesting motor-trikes for private hire and In Manila City we mainly used the App Grab to hire taxi’s, however there was the unique ‘Jeepney’s’ driving around too but we didn’t experience one of these.
